Brand New Poem

Things That I’ve Learned From You and From My Radio

If I ever plan to motor West,
I think I’ll travel your way;

your barely-perceptible movements
have been inspirational
as you’ve dragged yourself with your lips
across my kitchen floor.

You make catatonia
look as comfortable and smooth
as a motor-coach.

On the other hand,
if there IS another hand,
I could travel the
“highways and byways”
of the out-of-body:

blow through Weird Nevada
on a late-night airwave,
waving cheerfully
at sleeping eyelids.
